With four generations of family history designing and building memorials, Signature Memorials Limited was formed in 1991 by Stephen Sanderson.
The mission of Signature Memorials Limited is to provide exceptional service while delivering quality, personalized memorials, of both traditional and unique styles. We are proud to help the families we serve with thoughtful and sound advice.
Serving Central and Northern Ontario, and the greater Toronto area, we are involved in the communities we serve. We take pride in our work and service. Our experienced and capable staff (with an average of 20 plus years memorial industry tenure) have the experience, skill and ability to handle any project, large or small.
We instill the basics of good craftsmanship and traditional methods in our staff, while simultaneously combining old time artistry and craftsmanship with new technology, in our modern manufacturing shop.
Our sales and design staff can meet with you at one of our office locations or in the comfort of your own home, as many families prefer. While at home meetings, our staff are very comprehensive and emotionally supportive for the family.
Stephen Sanderson, owner, has been a member of and has served on the boards of the Ontario Monument Builders’ Association, The Monument Builder’s of North America Board of Trustees and the Monument Industry Educational Foundation. Signature Memorials Limited is one of only six Canadian firms that has attained membership in the American Institute of Commemorative Art. In 1982, Stephen acted as Chairman of the Ontario Monument Builders Association Terry Fox Memorial Committee that resulted in the design and installation of the Ontario Government’s Official Tribute to Terry Fox in Thunder Bay. And, in 1984, Stephen Sanderson was in charge of the design and installation of the Papal Monument at Midland’s Martyrs Shrine, commemorating the visit of Pope John Paul II.
We have served thousands of families and various community and public organizations. Our work includes memorials for Jazz legend Oscar Peterson, Actor and Dancer Gregory Hines, Blues and Jazz Musician Jeff Healey , Philanthropist and Professional Engineer Claudette McKay Lassonde, Toronto’s Humphrey family, Norstar Corporations, Tribute Garden, the City Of Orillia, Chippewas of Rama, Timothy Eaton Memorial Centenary Plaque and Canada’s largest Civic Veteran’s Memorial, Project Flanders, in North Bay, Ontario.
We believe our strength lies in our small town roots and values, professional manner and our experience, giving us the skills and ability to handle any project, large or small.
